Hey, this is a really solid, interesting lineup. I feel more inclined to check out Heavenly Delusion at least.
Looking through their feed, I'm impressed they were able to get all these folks from Japan to comment on the awards. Is Anime Trending that big of a deal then? I had never realized it was such a major thing. (Always assumed it was just someone sharing weekly stats, but perhaps this is an organization?) The artworks of the anime characters receiving the awards is very cute (and really high quality). Makes it all feel a little more special. |

Actually, it is an entire public voting award, no jury or panel involved in any stage of the awards. The nominees are determined by rankings whose final results at the last week of any season (quarterly) are nomination criteria. |

The voting being done by an online poll or survey for the general public is surprising to hear. How come this didn't end up just being a bunch of awards all for the same couple of series? Some of the winners seem pretty unexpected too, not at all what a popularity contest would normally lead to. |

As I said there are weekly rankings throughout a season. After the last week of every season there will be a final ranking which determines which series will receive a nomination except for categories like best voice cast, best voice actor or best voice actress. The rankings will be published on a weekly routine. The nominations for best OP and best ED are based on the Anitrendz charts (which is basically the same just for opening and ending themes). And I guess, you are only allowed to vote once (in contrary to the Crunchyroll Awards where you could vote daily for a whole week). |

How did Kana Arima win Girl of the Year and Supporting Girl of the Year? She didn’t play two separate characters, so she shouldn't be eligible for both awards. Either you’re a main character or a supporting character, but not both.

I guess, Kana is like both: One of main characters and a important side character. If we follow your criticism, Jeturk should not have won Boy of the Year and Supporting Boy of the Year. |

I completely overlooked that. Thanks for pointing it out. Would be nice to know what the criteria are for voting as well as for winning. |

The winner of each categorie was decided in an online voting. There was a voting period where the page visitors could vote (only once). The rankings where determined by voting as well but I do not know how characters where listed in the different character polls. |

Oh. Thought you guys did your own polls besides picking your favorites. I remember the recent podcasts had you still deciding what was the best 2023 series in response to Crunchyroll's awards |
