It's rare for me to see my top three of a particular season actually the top three....

Still getting a kick out of seeing Gushing and Solo Leveling continuing thier meteoric rise while more "mainstream" (?) stories are executing an equally meteoric fall to earth. Kicked from the Hero's Party got kicked, Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy got a taste of reality, Classroom of Elites were taught they weren't so "special" and Metallic Rouge had better put some of that on and make nice to the viewers or else it will be out on the streets...

I know you put a question mark but implying that Solo leveling is less mainstream than any of the shows you listed is hilarious. It's probably the most hyped show to debut this season. Even if the vocal minority on ANN might not have drooled over it that doesn't meant it wasn't mainstream or appeal to the silent majority. Also, three of the shows you listed are new seasons (which often see a decline unless they are actually mainstream like a shonen). In fact, none of the continuing shows you listed where popular enough on ANN to get voted in for daily reviews? How is this a flex?

I was trying to think of a term that fit so maybe "mainstream" wasn't a good choice but the shows going down seemed to me to have been popular enough to have been given a second or third season and/or were types currently popular. Mr. DeLorme says that returning shows tend to do well because those watching and rating already like them so it is sort of funny to see those starting high-mid (#9-#16 out of 41) and tanking "right out of the gate" relative to new shows starting low-mid and doing the opposite that in the case of Gushing I can see some people absolutely despising. Is that a "flex"?
Solo Leveling seemed to have been reviewed as "ok" and I wasn't following other sources, so if it was being "hyped" I wouldn't know. It does seem like the type of show that could do well but to me it is similar enough to the other shows mentioned where an unpopular person has or gets powers in another world and shows they really are or become the greatest, etc....Also, Ep1 didn't seem very "special" so it's funny that it is going up so fast. Guess it is capturing viewers' fancy while the old shows have turned unpopular (ironic to their premise)...

To be... something to Tsukimichi, the show was still catching up on debt from how the first season was adapted. They skipped some critical plot stuff to reach a climax for the ending, so they needed to spend two episodes covering what was skipped (the first episode was basically a reminder of who Makoto is). The plot should resume now.
