I was excited when they announced they were adapting Sand Land, I've never read it, but it looked interesting. It's a shame they went with 3D, but maybe one day they will do another adaption, only in 2D, so I can watch it.

That's some real cope. Why would they do another adaptation when the movie already flopped at the box office? And as long as it looks good why does it matter if it's 3D? No animation team in this day and age is insane enough to hand draw all the vehicles. That being said, there are still lots of 2D scenes.

Barely comparable since the second half of the show is actually new.

^Plus with the retelling being a all-in-one release, those who watched the movie can simply skip it and watch episode 7 on the same premiere day.

Really wish Disney would put some of their anime titles on Disney+ instead of Hulu or better yet both in the US. Can't stand Hulu compared to Disney+.
