Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2014

September 20-21 at Miyako Messe in Kyoto, Japan

The third annual Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (KYOMAF) brought in over 32,000 people this year to promote upcoming shows and products from those in the industry. The fair was held in the the Miyako Messe building, where industry panels, a showroom floor and a merchandise hall were all open to the public.

The showroom floor contained 43 booths from companies including P.A. Works, Aniplex, MBS, Kadokawa, Weekly Young Jump and others. The most popular booths were the Shaft and Aniplex booths, who were showcasing Madoka Magica figures and items, and the Lisani booth, who gave demos of "Personal 3D Viewers".

In the basement of the Miyako Messe building, an area for aspiring manga artists to pitch their ideas to publishers who attended the event was open. Nearby at the Heian Jingu Shrine, a "red carpet" and stage hosted acts from singers, dancers and cosplay performances.
